Sheryl and I spent the first night in our new home at Las Catalinas on Wednesday night.
What a wonderful dream come true.
Though we are not quite to Charles' vision of what Las Catalinas will be like in years to come, we are so close! After spending the day unpacking boxes and crates and setting up our home (while many workers were furiously finishing installing fans, lights, cabinets and counter tops) I walked down to the beach for a late afternoon swim. The sparkling turquoise water was incredibly refreshing after a long day at work. Pizza and tuna poke were delivered by Jen and we sat out on our patio (with beers in hand) to enjoy a great meal under the night sky. The ocean was lit by the moon and feeling like it was just off of our porch. The breeze was delightful. The reflections and shadows of the newly installed lights on the porch bar were dazzling. We went to sleep with the sound of the waves lapping onto the beach and woke up to freshly brewed coffee and pumpkin bread that we had purchased the day before at Pura Vida Ride. Las Catalinas is no longer just a dream.
It is difficult to completely express the gratitude that we have for so many who worked so unbelievably hard to make this dream a reality. From Charles' vision to Jim's and Luis Diego's efforts to build all of these homes, the restaurant and the activity center, we all can now enjoy Las Catalinas. We hope you will take the opportunity to experience this magical place.
