In yesterday's election Costa Rica elected its first woman president, Laura Chinchilla. She served as the Vice President in the current administration of Oscar Arias before resigning last year to campaign for the presidency.
Election day was a festive one in Costa Rica; a day when the Ticos showed great pride and respect for their proud history of democracy. It makes me proud too...
