Abriendo Mentes 2018 Matching Campaign

Are you looking for opportunities to give back to the environment and to others? Would you like to make a difference in our community?

Abriento Mentes is one of the organizations supported by the Guanacaste Community Fund. They offer innovative education and community development programs to children and adults living in rural and underserved areas in Guanacaste. Their comprehensive approach to community-based education focuses on youth development, adult education and job skill development, women’s economic empowerment, and community development.

They are currently running their 2018 Matching Campaign, where every donation received is being matched by a private donor up to $8,000, and they only have until August 31st to reach their goal. Today they are only $450 away, before every donation from the campaign will be matched, giving a total of $16,000 of support to community development programs. It’s the perfect time to support and double your impact.

After 7 years of community efforts as direct executors, since 2014, Las Catalinas established the Community Outreach Fund within the Guanacaste Community Fund (GFC), which is a program run by CRUSA Foundation (www.crusa.cr). Through this approach, we defined our role as strategic partners of environmental and social initiatives that already exist in the area of influence of Las Catalinas, performed by grassroots organizations.

Our work is to identify those organizations and projects that are a reflection of our philosophy and values, in order to make them accessible to homeowners, visitors and anyone interested in getting to know them and support them. Our role is to serve as a link between potential donors and those grassroots initiatives, working hard at the local level. Additionally, our duty is to oversee the proper use of these funds.

The Las Catalinas Outreach Fund can facilitate tax deductible donations in both Costa Rica and the United States, as well as provide tremendous opportunities for volunteering or having learning hand-on experiences, while helping the community and ultimately Guanacaste. It does not matter if you would like to donate money, time or expertise, you could be part of a meaningful initiative right away.

In this case, please send us an e-mail, indicating your name, address, exact amount of the donation, and the name Guanacaste Community Fund - Las Catalinas, thus it can be properly assigned and a thank-you note / receipt may be sent.
